Her horse, Chanel.
This is what Gina, who runs the rescue, wrote to me about Chanel (pictured below).
Chanel was one of many Friesian horses that were in desperate need of care. It was said that the care taker of these horses died and no one knew this for up to two weeks.
The owner of these horses was very ill with cancer and didn't really know what was going on. She later passed away from her illness. Most of the mares were pregnant.
Chanel from lack of food and water lost her baby and was very sick when she arrived to Heavenly Horse Haven. She was very weak with a high fever and very skinny. Her teeth needed floating and her hooves were cracked and sore. She was so angry with people and definitely didn't trust them.

As you can see, Chanel gave me the honor of getting quite close to her to take this picture. She is a totally new horse now that she has been working with Gina and receiving so much love from all of the volunteers at the ranch.
