and my haiku

the two best of friends
meet each day to laugh and play
no cares in their world

As many of you know, I used to work with dolphins in the wild... a very rewarding work that I someday may revisit when my children are grown - since it does require a lot of travel...
I made this for all of the children I've brought with me to see and experience the dolphins....this is for them. :)
This is also dedicated to a friend of mine in the dolphin field - Ric O'Barry - who produced the award winning documentary film "The Cove".... make sure to watch it if you haven't already.

a few deviants have used this stock -- did my best to do something of my own - especially with the haiku - but being that the girl's in water with a dolphin - we are all severely limited once someone initially does the work...
needless to say there will be similarities in most of the works produced with this stock.... :)

I saw The Cove and, while I was able to get through it, I found it to be so morbidly grotesque and excruciatingly sick that it, in my opinion, is virtually unbearable. In fact there is a term/description of some films that, as I understand it, only pertains to those that exist within the genre of horror; "gore-porn".

For those of you who are unaware, "gore-porn" refers to a film that is so filled with gore, blood and bloodthirstiness that it is referred to as pornographic. While I do not believe that every film that this term has been applied to, necessarily, belongs together, as it, the term itself has, perhaps, been overused, I do believe it is an accurate description of The Cove.

Besides the genre of "horror documentary", itself a sub-genre of both the horror and documentary genres, another way of looking at this is that The Cove exists within something that I consider to be a genre unto itself; for lack of a better term, I call it "great film; horrible story". Most of the films that are within this genre are probably horror movies, in particularly those that are documentaries. This includes films such as The Cove, Cropsey, Final Asylum: The Closing of Philadelphia State Hospital, The Human Centipede, a Vice documentary about the Aokigahara Forest, a faux documentary...Death of a President, Teeth...and a few others.

For anyone with an interested in such films, & in films in general, I am currently compiling a list of films that, for me at least, exist within that genre on the internet movie database and I may link it to my profile.
